How Biola.io Works

From Input to Impact

In technology, I/O (Input/Output) is how systems transform ideas into action.

At Biola, Biola.io reflects the same principle. Students bring curiosity. Faculty bring expertise. Industry brings meaningful challenges. Donors create opportunity. Together, they transform ideas into innovations that serve people and advance society.

What goes in shapes what comes out.

Purpose-Driven Innovation

Build technology that serves people.

Students don’t just learn how to build—they explore why their work matters.

Industry Collaboration

Learn by solving real problems.

Students don’t just learn how to build—they explore why their work matters.

Hands-On Experience

Research. Build. Test. Launch.

From AI labs to Engineering Garages, students learn by doing.

Leadership with Character

Technical excellence. Moral clarity.

Graduate prepared to lead with both skill and purpose.

Innovation Across Disciplines

Technology is changing every industry.
Biola.io brings together experts from multiple disciplines to prepare students for that future.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Students build intelligent software and Physical AI systems through interdisciplinary research, industry partnerships and hands-on projects that prepare them to lead in an AI-powered world.

Data & Decision Science

Mathematics, statistics and data science become practical tools for solving meaningful challenges through consulting, research and analytical modeling.

At the Quantitative Consulting Center, Students work with organizations ranging from nonprofits to federal research laboratories.

Life Sciences

Students conduct hands-on research in developmental biology, genetics and biomedical engineering while contributing to discoveries that improve human health.

Engineering & Robotics Engineering

From autonomous systems to competitive robotics and client-sponsored engineering projects, students gain practical experience designing, building and testing technologies that solve real-world problems.

Building the Future

The future of innovation requires places where ideas can become reality.

A transformational gift of more than $40 million—the largest in Biola University’s history—is expanding Biola’s technology division through new scholarships, advanced equipment and two new 6,000+ square foot Engineering Garages.

These state-of-the-art facilities will provide students with dedicated spaces to prototype robotic systems, autonomous vehicles, drones and next-generation engineering solutions.

Because the future isn’t built in lecture halls alone.
